How to Apply & Maintain Screen Print Transfers

Pressing:
Temperatures vary by design due to the difference in screen print formulas – see website for specifics by item.
We do not recommend using Teflon sheets or bonnets (which are placed on or around the heating platen). Doing so can cause the transfer to be applied below the stated temperature on press by as much as 30°.
PRESSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE – our transfers will give you a quality and long-lasting product, but you HAVE to ensure you are using adequate and even pressure. This will ensure the formula properly adheres to your garment. Not using enough pressure can result in poorly applied plastisol transfers and quality issues in the future (cracking, peeling, lifting, etc).
Please note that every heat press is different! Temperature and pressure are not always accurate or even, therefore adjusting for your individual press may be necessary and should be a part of your routine maintenance.
After pressing, peel slowly. It should peel effortlessly however if the transfer is sticking, increase your heat and/or time accordingly and press it again until it peels easily.
Tips to Prevent Cracking: We recommend pre-press for 5-7 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. Make sure you are using adequate temperature and pressure as noted.
